I have recently work for Kirby and left. All honestly their highest price for the sentria is $2180. but the actual price they go for with out any commission made and just to move units the lowest is $998. It is all a matter of how many times you say no really. If you say you cant afford a down payment they will give it to you with no down payment. if you say your waiting for your taxes they will say no payments for 3 months. Their rules are there is always a sale. If you are a senior there is a senior discount if you are a packers fan there is a packers discount, if your gay the is a gay pride discount. Don't get me wrong the vacuum is awesome but i can tell you the truth is they want the sale more then commission. the poor sales guy will get screwed but the manager and head hancho just want to move units. as a vacuum they are great as a company they are very crooked and dirty and lie!!!!!! so I hope this helps. I quit about a week ago so the info is fresh.

Hi. The first one was a Heritage II and they were asking $1100 for it. After going through all the negotiations with the salesman and giving him my $53 Sears upright sweeper, I ended up paying $550 for it. It ran beautifully right up until the time another Kirby salesman showed up at my doorstep with the Ultimate G in 2003 or 2004 (not sure which). He wanted $1500 for this one and he would throw in all the attachments and the sander and something else I don't ever use(don't even remember what it was) and take my Heritage II all for a wonderful price of $900. I am glad I bought the Ultimate G though because my old Heritage II was so heavy (and not self propelled). The Ultimate G is easy to use. I've not heard of the Sentria...assume it must be their latest model. If so, the price tag of $800 doesn't sound too bad. $2000? I don't think so!

I have bought 2 Kirby sweepers since 1985. The first one was a Heritage II and they were asking $1100 for it. After going through all the negotiations with the salesman and giving him my $53 Sears upright sweeper, I finished up paying $550 for it. It ran perfectly right up until the time another Kirby salesman showed up at my doorstep with the Ultimate G in 2003 or 2004 (not sure which). He wanted $1500 for this one and he would throw in all the attachments and the sander and something else I don’t ever use(don’t even remember what it was) and take my Heritage II all for a wonderful price of $900. I sold Kirbys for 6 years, started with the Generation 3. We sold them at times full price then for $1399.00 complete with the shampoo accessories. Mind you that was from the year of 1989 and up. However, If the rep is willing to eat his commission, which is typically $400 then you do the math. If you are dealing with a supervisor or Senior dealer then the commission can be from $500-$800. It alot of times is only about making the sale, the numbers per se. If the rep is a new dealer, then yes he is in it for the money. If you have any other inquiries, let me know. I am currently in Hawaii and they sell for $2500.00 here....OUCH

Depends on what part of the country you are in. For the basic model it was 1800, and they deluxe, with all attatchments was 3000. (this was the g6 series) Can I suggest though, that dyson are actually a better cleaner? When we used to do sales pitches if they already had a dyson, we could have just walked out of there and not bothered, the result would have been similar. We actually have a dyson now, and my mother in law is always complaining how heavy and bulky the kirby is. Just a suggestion though, Please dont think i am a disgruntled ex employee, just honest!

I used to work for kirby in australia. For the basic model it was 1800, and they deluxe, with all attatchments was 3000. Check out their service centers as well, they have used ones for sale too. You can negotiate the price on the new ones but you have to be as hard as they are on the sell.

You can get a excellent one at a garage sale for about $40.00 believe it or not. Most of the time, these places have "like new" Kirby's for half the price. I use an 80's model Kirby - have it serviced yearly - and it will out clean anything on the market. I also like you would like to see the new model they have out, but mine works great still. I got everything with mine.

G spin, I brought a kirby several years ago for around $1000.00, now yes it is high but for what it does for me in my home and the air is cleaner I can justify paying that amount.
