How come there are so many fashion rules for guys?

What’s happened to guys who aren’t worried to be individuals?
FASHION RULES FOR AMERICAN GUYS:

1) Pants can’t fit; must be baggy.
2) No small shorts. Only knee length or longer allowed.
3) Bathing pants must be long and baggy. No practical swimsuits allowed.
4) Only one earring (in left ear only) allowed.
5) No shimmels (half-shirts) in summer.

    I have never heard of any fashion rules for guys….it’s always women getting told how to dress.

    I’m pretty certain I’m going to have to agree with what’s already been said. Any “rules” for mens fashion are few and far between. Nothing in comparison to the amount that women are barraged with daily, at any rate.

    I can only really reckon of notions such as pleated pants, socks with sandals and highwaters. Then again, I reckon those apply to just about everyone, not just men. What “rules” do you speak of that are so numerous and restricting? I’m really curious.
