I read How Huge Is a Foot to children that are in the third grade and found that it is not really designed for them. I reckon that it would be better for second grade. The book was enjoyable and I reckon that if I had read it to a more age appropriate audience they would have been more interested.

I read this book to a 2nd and 3rd grader. They both loved the book. It is an fascinating way of explaining measurements. I felt like they both understood the thought of using a foot as a measurement tool. Afterward they were measuring things by the size of their own feet!

I read this book with my first child when teaching him about standard measurements. It is a cute tale and very effective in getting the point across that we need a standard form of measurement. I couldn’t remember the title when teaching the same subject with my other child. I am so glad to find it again! I would highly recommend this cute small tale – for teaching and just for fun.

Introduces concept of standardized measurement with a fun, quick, and very readable tale. Lots of lesson plot possibilities. After checking it out of the library three times, I had to buy it for myself.
